Walnut Marzipan
Marzipan is a essentially known as a paste of sugar and nuts. I give you a walnut twist on this delicious treat with a touch of rum! You can mold into small balls and cover in colored sugar for a sweet treat.
Walnut Marzipan
Ingredients
1-1/2 cups California walnuts
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon dark rum
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
Place walnuts in a food processor and mix until finely ground.
Add powdered sugar, rum and salt. Mix until combined.
Add cold water, 1/2 teaspoon at a time, until the mixture comes together and forms a crumbly dough.
Turn marzipan out onto a surface, sprinkled with a bit of powdered sugar, and use your hands to press crumbs into a log.
Wrap in plastic wrap and store in a dark and cool place until ready to use.
