World's Best Sugar Cookies
Sugar Cookie Traditions
Many may not know that I received a full scholarship to the University of Minnesota at Duluth (UMD) upon graduation from high school. I was lucky to be able to live with my great Aunt Florence and Uncle John while I navigated my way through my first quarter at UMD. While adjusting to college life, I had the stability and generosity of many relatives in Duluth, but Auntie Florence and Uncle John provided the basic necessities, which included great meals. Florence and John’s daughter, Carol (who I was named for as I was born on her birthday) has a fabulous daughter, Sarah. For Christmas this year I received a glorious book from Sarah…a cookbook actually, that showcases the cooking and baking skills of Auntie Florence. I had time over the holidays to bake a favorite recipe from the book…Classic Sugar Cookies. Please make these cookies. Take your time…watch the oven and make sure you bake exactly 10 minutes at 375°, these gems are worth your time and attention. Auntie Florence would be proud.
